american idol?

What I've really wanted since coming back to New York is the country, as in trees and ticks and dirt and Main Street. And a pitcher of sangria on Joanne's roof as soon as we successfully get ahold of each other. But really quietness to read and write and think and maybe work outside. Right in the middle of planning to go up to the Berkshires for a couple of months, I get a phone call asking me if I 'd like to work on the crew of American Idol IV, the winners' concert tour. Exact same time period I was planning on making daisy chains and focusing on me, not to mention that I've never seen the show besides approximately 20 minutes of mocking once with my roommate. After careful (sike) consideration of the funny stories that I will return with, I said yes. I'm an American Idol roadie. what the.

status anxiety

today i read a book by my current favorite author, Alain de Botton, called Status Anxiety. I absolutely did not mean to buy Status Anxiety because it doesn't exactly fit into my unemployment budget but faced with A.D.B i am hopefully fiscally irresponsible, maybe because he gives me such hope that why, really, should i care about that errant $15. I only even went into Barnes & Noble to use the bathroom but the line at the bathroom was really long and my friends weren't re-emerging so i walked in circles around the displays. His other books The Consolations of Philosophy, The Art of Travel, and How Proust Can Change Your Life have inspired me and reminded me of things that are wonderful and crucial and too easy to forget and made me LAUGH outloud, to myself, repeatedly. I sit on the fire escape and stare off in the distance and smile. a lot. I'm thinking a lot about laughter.
